Hibernation on top of Hibernation?

by | Dec 31, 2020 | Uncategorized | 3 comments

I have a bit of a dilemma. Every January, I hibernate from the abundance of activities. All the clubs, meetings, church committees, travels, practices. Just for a month I allow myself to bask in the warmth and coziness and silence. A time to regroup, to revitalize for the myriad of work and activity of the new year.

So, as you have guessed, the dilemma is that is what I’ve been doing since March 13, 2020! As all of you have too. I have nothing to hibernate and to recoup from this January. What would hibernation look like now? I can’t pull away from attending meetings—DAR, PEO, Sunday School. None of those are gathering. I have enough alone time to ease my normal January blues and need to seclude myself.

My hibernation this year might be just the opposite, where I can reach out instead of inward. Suppose I spend my “at home” time sending cards, calling friends, researching, writing, planning. January this year will give me a new beginning in a positive vein. I welcome the challenge. Who knows, perhaps all of my clubs and organizations will start meeting again and give me the need to hibernate in 2022.

How does your January look different from before? Are you ready for the challenges?

My January will look different without my Mom being home. I am used to reading out loud to her and my husband on the cold snowy days. This is not going to happen. I am having an issue enjoying to read without being able to read out loud to them. I need to buck up and do it anyway. God will get us all through this season.

I have been “hibernating” for the past 6 years. What I am hoping is that I am able to dive in even deeper into reading & studying the Bible first and foremost. Then I hope to be able to be able to help more authors with their books. I have been doing different things and it seems everything I do I love!
I also hope I am able to get out as much as possible to spend any time with my Daddy that I can. I can’t physically care for him the way I want to but do still want that time that will stay in my heart forever!
    Happy New Year!

Usually January is a slow start as people wind down from holiday festivities and mostly plan to start the year’s activities. But this year just as you said, there is not much to wind down from… your calendar looks lovely and I’m so ready to read the last of y the revolutionary faith series as well as your new books!
