Veterans Day Flags Wave Again

by | Nov 8, 2023 | Uncategorized | 1 comment

I live close to our small-town cemetery established in 1884. Somehow, I ended up on the cemetery board. I have found my niche and my yearly project to promote our little cemetery and beautify the area.

In May I place 40 flags on the gravesites of our Veterans. They stay waving until after July 4. I love seeing their colorful stripes across the grounds.

The first week of November the beautiful red, white, and blue flags dot the same 40 graves, sending out the message of freedom, hope, sacrifice, and patriotism.  I had help this week from my father, my three-and-a-half-year-old grandson, and my daughter. What memories! And what a lesson for my young grandson.

Thank you to all who fought and those who continue to fight for our freedom.

God Bless You.
