Day 4 February 18 of Labor of Love Celebration and Giveaway–$10 Amazon Gift Card
The costumes in Italy of the 1500s could be quite spectacular. Think Queen Elizabeth I.  I enjoyed researching the fashion. My style leans toward the simple less flamboyant, but in the Medici household that was almost impossible.
What is your favorite historic period for fashion?

I love Viking women’s clothing style. Now, I’m not talking about that fake stuff that’s always portrayed in the movies and whatnot, but the actual authentic clothing of Viking women; the long dress covered by the apron, whose front and back was tied at the waist on either side and held up by broaches at the front of the shoulders. I’ve always loved the simplicity of the style.

Ooh, that’s a tough one!! When it comes to the style I’d most love to wear, ’tis certainly the 1950s fashion…but I adore Civil War era dresses and medieval fashion (for women, though, not for the men lol)!

I can’t even imagine wearing some of the historic clothes…so many layers, corsets, and hoops! Just think of the effort to keep them clean. I like our casual contemporary fashions but if I have to pick fashions from history, I’d go with the 1920s when things began to loosen up and the hemlines were rising.
