So ready! Promise of Purity releases in FOUR DAYS! This is historical fiction, set in 1661 England with a new king, new styles, new fashion…nothing like the Puritan dress of the decade before. Poor Kate is caught in the middle with her plain, simple, white-black-gray attire. Is it wrong for her to admire the bright patterns and colors of the clothing of ordinary citizens and the court? She wants to add yellow, green, blue to her wardrobe. The clothing I do not like of the period is the men’s fashion—so much frill, lace, and pomp. Images of King Charles II with his curly black wig and fancy dress are a bit much. What do you think? Does fashion matter?
