What are you reading?

Do you read more than one book at a time? Well, not in the same sitting of course. I always have two print books, an eBook, and an audio book going. Plus, a few research books. Most of the time I have a book in French or Spanish beside my reading chair.

Here is what I’m currently reading:

Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham. What a fun, contemporary rom-com! It is set in an island kingdom with connections to Scotland. Americans and islanders, king and princess, a carpenter and interior designer.

The Secret Book of Flora Lea by Patti Callahan Henry.  I’m only a few pages in, but the 20-year-old mystery of a missing sister has me turning the pages. WWII connections to the 1960s.

I’m also reading A Season of Grace by Stacy Simmons. This third book of the Briar Creek Love series brings back beloved characters. I enjoy the contemporary setting of North Carolina.

Mimi Matthews’ A Lady of Conscience is a wonderful audio book. I read a lot of her books on audio. Long trips are so pleasant as the pages come to life.

My current research project takes me to 1905-1907 Lake District in England to the life of Beatrix Potter. Besides her beloved Tales, I have read The Victorian Kitchen Garden by Jennifer Davies and Beatrix Potter, A Life in Nature by Linda Lear. Memories are returning from my travels there years ago.

What are you reading?
