Luggage by any other Name

I’m about to travel again overseas. My spare bed is piled with items I must shuffle through and twiddle down in order to put in a small suitcase. Wow, luggage has really changed over the years. Does anyone remember the extremely large suitcases we used to carry? I cannot believe I traveled that way.

Luggage, baggage, suitcase, carry-on…whatever word I use, it is still something very necessary for a traveler. I wish there was a way around it. But helas…I must have my stuff. But nowadays not so much of it. Somehow, I have to pack enough for three weeks in a 20-inch suitcase and a small 14-inch carry-on. Actually, both of them will be carry-ons if the airline does not decide that I have to check one, which has happened on my most recent flights.

We all have baggage. I guess as humans we cannot help it. I’m trying as I get older to let go of lots of my unnecessary luggage as I deal with relationships and life. Maybe I’m getting closer to having all my “stuff” in a carry-on. It might take the rest of my life.

So, how are you are at packing and leaving the unnecessary at home?

Great post! I’m ready for our trip. Baggage, physical or otherwise, is difficult!
